Founded by Salvatore Sutera, FILAGINA ENTERTAINMENT is a production company committed to telling universal stories relatable to all, told through the lens of diverse communities to both entertain and unite people from all walks of life. It currently has multiple feature and television projects in development.
In 2023 the company produced its first short film "One Night with Love" starring Cobra Kai's Vanessa Rubio. The film garnered much attention in festivals throughout the U.S., laying the foundation for a TV series currently in development.
In 2024-2025, the company's second short film "Don't Bring Empanadas" became an audience favorite throughout its film festival run, screening at a variety of prestigious film festivals such as the Oscar-qualifying Cleveland Int'l Film Festival and Santa Fe Int'l Film Festival. Award winner of "Best Comedy Short" at the Cleveland Int'l Film Festival, "Best Narrative Short" at the Houston Latino Film Festival, and "Best Ensemble" at the Catalina Int'l Film Festival.

SALVATORE SUTERA
CEO - DIRECTOR / WRITER / PRODUCER
Born and raised in an Ecuadorian/Italian household in Northern New Jersey, Salvatore Sutera began in independent film, quickly rising through the ranks and venturing into television. At the young age of 23, he joined the Directors Guild of America and successfully became one of the youngest working Assistant Directors in New York City. His success continued onto Film & TV projects such as “Curb Your Enthusiasm”, “The Adjustment Bureau”, “Boardwalk Empire”, and “Elementary” to name a few. For his contribution as a member of Martin Scorsese’s directorial AD team, he was awarded the 2010 DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in a Dramatic Series for HBO's “Boardwalk Empire”. He was also an Associate Producer for his work on a Kiefer Sutherland web series entitled “The Confession”. Now residing in Los Angeles, Salvatore has continued to work on critically acclaimed projects such as Netflix's "Mindhunter", HBO’s “Perry Mason”, Paramount Network’s “Yellowstone”, and more recently HBO’s “Winning Time: Rise of the Lakers Dynasty”. Since then, he's begun his transition to the Director/Writer/Producer stage of his career.
As a proud son of immigrant parents, Salvatore believes that the industry is just scratching the surface of creating high-quality diverse storytelling. He hopes to bring all he's learned through his many years of premium filmmaking to create diverse, universally entertaining Film & Television productions. Along with being a longtime member of the Directors Guild of America, Salvatore is also a member of The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
